Me and KV got up about 10am and got ourselves ready for the journey to the historical city of Malacca. We were quite excited about this one day trip.
Before heading off, we had breakfast at a nearby Old Town restaurant. Reached there around 1.30pm and parked our car near to the Malacca River.
We started our journey by visiting the Christ Church which was built by the Dutch. We did go in but it was under renovation as we could see workers painting the church’s ceiling and repairing parts of the church.
The next stop was the Ruins of St. Paul Church. The church’s roof was removed due to a certain reason according to a nearby tourist guide. The statue standing in front of the church is none other than the famous Christian missionary, St. Francis Xavier. He was actually buried there for about a month before his incorruptable body was taken to Goa, India. If you look carefully at the statue, you will see that there is no right forearm. After his death, his right forearm which was used to baptize and bless his coverts, was removed.

I spotted two Sony Alpha users there. The photo below was taken by one of them. Of course there are tons of Canon & Nikon DSLR users there as well.

Down the hill, stands the famous A Famosa fortress. We went past the fort and headed to shopping mall nearby as there is nothing much to see at the-almost-totally-demolished fort. After having enough of rest, we headed to the Stadhuys, which was the Dutch’s administrative building back in those days. The whole building is now being used as a museum to showcase traditional costumes and artifacts throughout the history of Malacca. We did a few crazy things inside. Pose lah, jump lah and a lot more.
