My first time

Hmm, I’ve not been updating my blog as often as I should. Anyway, here’s a quick one from me. Two days before Chinese New Year, I tried a few stuff for the first time.

I went lunch with KV’s extended family for a farewell lunch at Dragon-i and that was the first time I tried Yee Sang and abalone. :) Overall, the food were great and my tummy was filled to the brink. All in all, the bill amounted to RM700+ and the best part was that I didn’t even have to pay for it!

Over to the night, I went out with KV, her auntie together with her bf to Bukit Tinggi in Klang for some drink with their friend. The guy ordered a Beer Tower. The tower is almost the height of your typical desktop casing.

I drank quite a big portion of it and I didn’t have to pay for it either. I didn’t have to pay a single cent for the whole day. Amazing?

Second time to KLPac

Few days ago, me and my princess decided to go KLPac’s Open Day together with my housemate, Sze Kwang. The last time I went was there was for the Urbanscape 2008. I was actually expecting something similar to Urbanscape 2008 during the open day, but it wasn’t even close enough. Anyway, I took quite a bit of photos there. First shot of the day has to be a photo of my princess, right?

I rarely see lots of DSLR users in any particular event in Penang. Almost everywhere I walked to in KLPac, I could easily spot DSLRs here and there. Some photographers prefer to do the ’superman’ shooting position.

One of the things that you will commonly see all over the place in KLPac will be the ‘metal-wired’ sofas. Those sofas really look cool, man!

KV and I went and checked out the flea market stuff and also snapping away with my Sony A200 while Sze Kwang teleported himself here and there in KLPac. I got a little creative and shot the photo below. Nice?

After checking out the KLPac Idol thingy, it was time for us to head home. Took a photo with my housemate before leaving.

For those who haven’t been to KLPac before, do drop by and be amazed! I don’t mind being your tour guide for free of charge. Haha!

KLPac Open Day 2009

Are you free this coming Sunday? If you are, you might want to check out the KLPac Open Day. I went to KLPac for the first time for the Urbanscape 2008. As for the open day, it will be packed with a lot of free performances, workshops, film screenings, visual art installations and a flea market where you can get a lot of inexpensive stuff from.

Below are the details for the festival and a map to KLPac. Just ask me if you can’t figure out how to get there.

I already told KV about it and I think she wants to go. I’ll probably bring my housemates along to the festival. So, are you guys going? Don’t be a KLPac virgin, man!

Steam the boat

I’ve been longing to eat BBQ steamboat since a while ago. Never got the chance to eat and my dream came true 3 days ago. Me and my other half went to Seoul Garden in One Utama for our ’steaming & bbq-ing’ session.

To me, food choices are a bit limited with amount me and KV paid for. I would anytime go for Swatow Lane’s BBQ steamboat in Penang. The prices there are way cheaper and you got a lot of food choices to choose from. Sadly, I’m stuck in KL, so I have to pay more to enjoy such stuff.

My tummy is now the size of a football. No joke. It’s big and superbly round. I really need to exercise and slim it down. Aha, it’s gym time!

The same cake

I celebrated two birthdays recently with friends back in Penang as well in KL. Let me start off with the first birthday celebration.

Julian, who’s one of my closest buddies around, is finally 24. His birthday sticks easily on our aging brains. His birthday falls on the last day of the year. What’s the end result of mixing birthday and new year eve’s celebration together? More partying I guess. Met Julian and his other half in Gurney Plaza to celebrate his birthday with KV, my brother and Daniel. Went to a few places before settling down in Chili’s for food and drinks.

Ok, moving on to the other birthday boy. 3 day ago, me and my housemates celebrated Haniff’s special day. I was pretty ‘busy’ almost the whole day. Went to Seoul Garden for BBQ steamboat, which I’ll blog about it later on, and checking out education stuff at The Star Education Fair. We almost celebrated his belated birthday, man! Anyway, he’s one of the coolest Malay guys I’ve ever mixed with.

Look at the two freaking dark cakes. Anything different? ;) We bought the same Walnut Brownies for the both of them.

Julian and Haniff: Age is catching up with you guys and just make the most out of it. Live life cool, buddies!
