A very old town

Yesterday after work, me and KV went to the nearest Old Town restaurant. I wasn’t in a good appetite but I forced myself to take some stuff in. I was like thinking of drinking some nice juicy stuff than the thought of eating and filling my tummy. Anyway, I just went ahead with just a glass of cold plain water which is just RM0.60 to quench my thirst first. Took some photos with a ’secret’ Motorola handphone because I did not bring my DSLR along.

I ordered the Nasi Lemak Special which is not that special at all. KV ordered her usual meal, Assam Laksa. The Assam Laksa is one of the best laksa that I’ve tasted in KL so far as others are either tasteless or taste like they overcook it to show you that the laksa is KL-made! 8-O

Learning mode

First of all, I want to wish all my readers Happy Deepavali and I hope you guys are enjoying yourself. My Sony A200 has been with me for almost a month but I have yet to use it to its full potential. I was quite disappointed with the outcome of my shots and I know that I need additional information and guidance to help me pull out better shots.

I’ve downloaded an e-book from the net and I also bought the Digital Camera magazine 3 days ago. I need to learn more and take better photos.

To those pro-photographers, you mind giving some help here? :)

Yummylicious

Yesterday after work, KV drove to the LRT station and fetched me out for dinner. We went to Secret Recipe to fill our tummies as I had a sudden urge of having western food. It is nice to have a good dinner once a while, right? I eat at those mamak stall almost everyday because it’s the nearest food stall to my condo. Anyway, the Secret Recipe restaurant is just right behind my condo.

I was tempted to try the same thing I tried last time but decided to go for something else. KV went ahead with their Grilled Black Pepper Chicken while I took the Prawn Macaroni with Cheese. Ordered a bowl of Mushroom Soup as an appetizer too.

The cheesy macaroni was heavenly to me and the prawns were quite fresh. We wanted to go for their cakes but decided to leave it for another time.

Extra alphabet

I got an e-mail few days ago from my HR department. I won’t reveal the name of that person who sent me the e-mail but I will show you what will happen if you accidentally add an extra alphabet in a word!

Apparently, that person sent the same ‘ass’ to my other colleagues as well. I think I have a nice ass. :-P

The power of DSLR

I am still learning the basics of using and handling a DSLR. It’s not an easy task as you need to fiddle around with various settings to achieve the way that you want it to be. Of course, you can always go on auto mode. But that defeats the purpose of having a DSLR. You don’t need a DSLR to do everything as a high-end digital camera or a prosumer camera will be able to do the same job.

I’ve taken a few photos with my Sony A200 at home these few days but have yet to go out for any photoshoot. For now, let me show you a sample taken with my DSLR. Nothing to shout about as I feel the depth of field can be achieved using other digital cameras as well. I will post more photos later on.
